PEACE COMPETITION SERIES
Using creative and experiential learning to build children and youth’s capacity for peace, conflict engagement, and good governance.
Peace Dialogue Competition 2026
A nationwide, youth-led initiative in which structured youth peace dialogues are held across all 36 states of Nigeria, building youth capacity for dialogue as a strategic tool for peace, governance, and meaningful political participation.
Dialogues are designed, organised, and led by youths, with a standardised guidance checklist to ensure quality, inclusion, and comparability. Each state constitutes one competition entry, bringing diverse stakeholders together to facilitate solution-driven conversations that produce actionable governance outcomes.
Peace Creatives Competition 2025
The competition used a mix of creative mediums such as drama, music, dance, spoken word, and more for youth to learn and engage on issues of peace, conflict, and/or good governance. Participants were able to use a medium they were conversant with to explore the various concepts, principles, and tools relevant to the chosen theme.
The creative process helped participants build the needed knowledge and skills, that in turn contributed to building and reinforcing capacity for peace, conflict, and good governance.
Peace Art Competition 2024
The Competition used art as a medium to raise awareness and drive the conversation with children on the issue of peace and conflict.
Through drawing, painting, and other visual forms, participants were given a creative outlet to express their understanding of peace and conflict, making difficult concepts more accessible and relatable at an early age.
The Peace Art Competition helped build children’s capacity to engage with peace and conflict issues visually, laying an early foundation for the kind of thoughtful, empathetic engagement that supports meaningful co-existence and growth.
Peace Tale Competition 2023
The competition uses storytelling and writing as a medium for youth to learn and engage on issues of peace and conflict. Participants explore the concepts of peace and conflict through our indigenous folktales.
The Peace Tale competition provides participants with a scenario-based, practical experience of peace and conflict issues and starts them on their journey towards deliberate peace and conflict engagements that facilitate meaningful co-existence and growth.
